Cross-listed courses refer to courses that are the same between more than one discipline. The course content could fall under either discipline. There may be graduation or accreditation requirements for students to have a certain number of courses in a single discipline. By having the course appear under two different subject codes, students have the option to register in the subject that best fits their academic needs. Because the courses are the same, just under different subject codes, only one iteration of a cross-listed course will be used for credit, GPA calculation, and graduation.
