ENGL 2210 - English Literature to the Restoration

This course surveys English literature from its earliest beginnings to the Restoration (1660), with an emphasis on major authors. Students will read a variety of genres closely and critically and will examine how these texts relate to their socio-political, religious and cultural environments. Students will be introduced to literary research.

Prerequisite(s): A grade of C- or higher in one of ENGL 1101/GNED 1401, GNED 1403, or GNED 1404 and a grade of C- or higher in one of ENGL 1131, ENGL 1135, ENGL 1137, ENGL 1151, ENGL 1152, ENGL 2141, ENGL 2216, ENGL 2228, ENGL 2273, ENGL 2293, ENGL 2294, ENGL 2295, ENGL 2298, ENGL 2299, ENGL 2301, HIST 1101, HIST 2204, HIST 2206, HIST 2238, HUMN 1109, or HUMN 2219.
