ENGL 2270 - Literatures in Canada to 1914 Credit(s): 3 Lecture Hour(s): 3 Lecture Hours Schedule Type: Lecture This course surveys literatures in Canada from their beginnings to the early twentieth century. It explores topics such as the development of colonial literature and the role of the literary institution in the development of Canadian nationalism. Students examine the literature of exploration, travel, and settlement with a concentration on themes such as ecology and landscape, identity formation, and place.
