This course will engage with theories of power to reveal the construction of race and the impacts of racism. Centering feminist anti-racist theories and practices, students will explore how categories of race are produced and contested in relation to the nation state and imperialism, and at the intersection of sex, gender, class, disability, age, size, citizenship, and other dimensions of difference.

Prerequisite(s): One of WGST 1172, WGST 2205, WGST 2239 or consent of the department.
