Under the guidance of a faculty supervisor, the student carries out the proposed research project planned in GEOL 5501 (Honours Research I), which includes the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data. The project results are presented as a manuscript and as an oral or poster presentation to a scientific audience. The student also defends their results and conclusions during a formal session with their supervisory committee.
