Early Learning and Child Care, Minor

The Early Learning and Child Care Minor will provide students with the foundational knowledge of early childhood education and care from birth to 12 years old. Course offerings include an overview of the profession, differing abilities, child development, learning through play, child and youth human rights, mental health interventions and social policy. This minor can complete other degree programs related to work with children, youth and families.

Students must take one of these courses. Students can choose either Learning Through Play or Principles of Development as their stream of interest.

Students can continue with their chosen stream of Learning Through Play, Principles of Development, or they can choose Child, Family, and Community.
