CRJS 2002 - Indigenous People and the Canadian Criminal Justice System(formerly CRJS 4401) Credit(s): 3 Lecture Hour(s): 3 Lecture Hours Schedule Type: Lecture This course examines the relationship between Indigenous People and the Canadian criminal justice system. At its core is an examination of Indigenous Peoples’ over-representation as victims and offenders and underrepresentation of practitioners in the Canadian criminal justice system. The course also discusses underlying factors and government initiatives to address this issue, including traditional Indigenous approaches to justice.
Prerequisite(s): CRJS 1001 , CRJS 1003 and CRJS 1013 . Note: Students cannot receive credit for both CRJS 2002 and CRJS 4401.
