AIRF 4203 - Air Cargo Supply Chain Logistics Credit(s): 3 Lecture Hour(s): 3 Lecture Hours Schedule Type: Lecture This course will review the global air cargo market and its importance to global trade while also reviewing air cargo pricing, marketing, route selection, and its value in the profit margins of regional and international airlines. Belly hold and all cargo aircraft advantages will be discussed as well as determining the optimal aircraft selection for the airline. The use of data analytics and its increasing importance in determining air cargo load route structures and market pricing will be reviewed. The student will use online scenario-based training to work through global air cargo problems to develop financial models and find solutions. TIACA, IATA, ICAO and other International Regulatory bodies as well as Air Transport regulations and Dangerous Goods Transportation will be covered. Airport cargo operations and their link to airline operations will be studied. Recent geopolitical events such as Covid-19’s impact on global air cargo movements and the adaptation in business model changes by industry will be reviewed.
