This course will give students a sound foundation in the environmental, social, and governance issues affecting the global aviation industry. The aviation industry’s attempts to lower carbon emissions through technological advancements, alternative fuels, optimized and integrated next-generation air traffic control, and automation will be reviewed. Global carbon credit mechanisms will be reviewed, as well as various marketing initiatives and mechanisms the industry is employing. Challenges to the aviation industry will also be reviewed, including pressure to reduce mass tourism, and future aviation business models will be analyzed.
