NURS 2113 - Pharmacology: Nursing Knowledge and Application Credit(s): 3 Lecture Hour(s): 3 Lecture Hours Schedule Type: Lecture Lab Hour(s): 2
This second-year course builds on students’ pharmacological knowledge to support safe, evidence-based nuring care across diverse populations. Emphasizing primary health care and social determinants, this course combines academic study with simulated practice to develop clinical judgment in medication management.
Students will examine how pharmocotherapuetics addresses health alterations, applying critical thinking to assess, plan and evaluate medication regimens. NURS 2113 emphasizes collaborative care, patient education and advocacy strategies to promote medication adherence, optimize therapeutic outcomes and prevent adverse drug events.
By the end of the course, students will demonstrate competence in integrating pharmacological theroy with clinical decision-making, interpreting complex medication-related scenarios and making informed recommendations for drug therapy in both simulated and real-world settings.
