ANTH 1106 - Introduction to Linguistic Anthropology Credit(s): 3 Lecture Hour(s): 3 Lecture Hours Schedule Type: Lecture This course explores the anthropological study of language, culture, and communication. Topics will include the origin, evolution and socio-historical development of languages, the structure of language, comparative analysis and classification of languages, the impact of language and culture on one another, how language is used in particular socio-cultural contexts, and a brief survey of field methods, analytical methods, and theory.
