CHST 3105 - Child and Youth Human Rights Credit(s): 3 Lecture Hour(s): 3 Lecture Hours Schedule Type: Lecture This course will examine prevailing issues pertaining to child and youth human rights, within the context of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Topics will include promotion of the convention as well as protection, provision, and participation rights. This course will assist in preparing students to work effectively with a diverse range of children, youth, and families by increasing knowledge and skills of human rights advocacy and considering implications for professional practice and social policy in Canada.
Prerequisite(s): CYCC 1232 or CYCC 2232 and CYCC 2242 or ELCC 2285 . Note: Only one of CHST 2203 or CHST 3105 can be used to satisfy program requirements for the Bachelor of Child Studies.
