HUMN 2221 - Science and Religion in Early Modern Europe Credit(s): 3 Lecture Hour(s): 3 Lecture Hours Schedule Type: Lecture This course explores the tremendous changes that occurred in science and religion between 1450 and 1700. In particular, it looks at the reasons that religion and natural science split apart into separate institutions during the Renaissance and the Scientific Revolution. Topics such as authority and belief, the earthly and heavenly realms, the extent of human knowledge, and the relation between humans and nature will be discussed.
