SINV 2010 - Directed Field Studies I

(15 credits) Field Work

The Directed Field Studies course requires students to work for an employer in a values-driven business, the public sector, or the social economy - a community, volunteer, or nonprofit organization. This on-the-job experience combined with faculty mentoring will enable students to become skillful at both personal and situational analysis and to demonstrate proficiency in social economy and business contexts. Students must complete a series of research projects to relate their practical experience with their academic studies. Students may, with prior approval, engage in a new social innovation organizational startup.

Prerequisite(s): SINV 2201 , SINV 2247 , and SINV 3305 with minimum grades of C, or consent of the department.
