ENGL 1152 - Identity and Invention: An Introduction to Literature (3 credits) 3 hours lecture Lecture This course introduces the principles and practices of literary analysis by examining features of self-invention and first-person identity in selected works of prose, poetry, and drama. Students will apply close reading techniques to the imaginatively-constructed “I” in order to develop foundational skills in writing and thinking about literature critically.
