SLGY 3350 - Methodologies for Indigenous Sociologies Credit(s): 3 Lecture Hour(s): 3 Lecture Hours Schedule Type: Lecture, Blended, Online This course focuses on Indigenous sociological epistemologies and methodologies. Colonial societies will be deconstructed through an Indigenous lens that challenges traditional sociological methodologies. Indigenous peoples’ experiences in these societies, such as in Abya-Yala (Latin America) and Turtle Island (North America), will provide students a comprehensive understanding of how Indigenous sociological methodologies are applied to investigate, analyze, explain, and solve social issues such as food and water supply, governance, environment and society, social inequality, urbanization, and social justice.
Prerequisite(s): SLGY 1101 Recommended Preparation: SLGY 2250 .
