AIRF 3242 - Advanced Aviation Psychology and Preparing for Industry Credit(s): 3 Lecture Hour(s): 3 Lecture Hours Schedule Type: Lecture This course gives students an in-depth understanding of the psychological factors involved in two crew and single pilot decision making and how the human brain functions under stress. Three Point Operational Discipline (TPODS) and Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) will be taught to give the pilot effective situational awareness skills to mitigate incidents and increase safe flight operations. Aircraft Accident Case Studies will be used to identify the processes and decisions the aircrew and the organization made leading to the incident, with a focus on mitigation. Students will be trained in effective interview skills, including mock industry interview panels, to prepare them for the industry.
