This course set deals with the normal functions of and interactions between organs and organ systems in the human body. The emphasis will be on how these functions are controlled in the normal state and how they are integrated in the whole organism. For this first of two courses, the major topics studied in this course include: homeostasis, signal transduction through intra- and inter-cellular communication, and properties of excitable cells, including cells of the nervous, muscular, endocrine and reproductive systems.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 2110 , BIOL 2202 , CHEM 1201 and CHEM 1202 with grades of C- or higher. General Science Option
