This is a foundational course in mountaineering, which includes alpine and glacier techniques. Emphasis will be placed on the development and understanding of the skills and knowledge of mountain safety. Participation is required in a two-day overnight field trip involving wilderness camping. This course is divided between preparatory lectures and off-campus activities.
