This is an intermediate-level clinical practicum with an approved agency that focuses on a higher level of responsibilities and expectations with clinical assessment and rehabilitation skills and an introduction to the application of rehabilitation skills.
Students will demonstrate evidence-based, ethical, critical thinking, reflection, and collaborative practice while integrating previous and current theoretical and practical knowledge in line with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association Scope of Practice and Professional Competencies List. Participants will participate in lectures once every two weeks, complete 100 hours of practicum, and complete practicum and course requirements. Athletic Therapy students are expected to be open to working with diverse populations and gender identities across the lifespan.
Prerequisite(s): ATTH 3110 , ATTH 3120 , and ATTH 3150 . Note: Students registered in ATTH 3152 should be aware that the start date of their practicum can begin prior to the start of the Winter semester. In addition, students are required to be available until the end of the final exam period in order to complete all practicum and course requirements.
Students must be prepared to attend clinical/field practicum anywhere in Calgary and must be open to options outside of Calgary.
