NURS 3132 - Mental Health Credit(s): 3 Lecture Hour(s): 6 Lecture Hours Schedule Type: Lecture In this course, students will use a relational, strengths-based approach, to consider population groups and influences, as a framework to promote health, and provide holistic and equitable care for a diversity of adults and families who experience acute and chronic mental illness. Students will engage in care coordination within a collaborative environment to consider inter-professional partnerships, critical thinking, advocacy, trauma informed care, to build capacity, and clinical judgment in a variety of contexts.
Prerequisite(s): HLTH 2250 , INTS 1240 , PSYC 2235 , HPED 2507 , as well as a grade of C or higher in NURS 2215 and an EP in NURS 2216 .
AND
One of GNED 1101 , GNED 1102 , or GNED 1103 , one of GNED 1201 , GNED 1202 , or GNED 1203 , one of GNED 1301 or GNED 1303 , and one of GNED 1401 , GNED 1403 , GNED 1404 , or ENGL 1101 . Note: It is recommended that students complete NURS 3132 and NURS 3134 concurrently to best support the integration of theory and clinical practice.
