This course examines the social and psychological aspects of death and dying. Historical and cultural variability in death attitudes, spirituality, bereavement, the grieving process, final disposition choices, and death perceptions across the life span will be discussed. Personal biases and triggers related to complex issues such as medically assisted death and suicide will also be explored.
