CRJS 2109 - Violent Crime Credit(s): 3 Lecture Hour(s): 3 Lecture Hours Schedule Type: Lecture This course introduces students to classic and contemporary theories associated with interpersonal violence, gang violence, state-sponsored violence, extra-state violence, and violence associated with transnational organized crime. Students will first gain a foundational understanding of the relevant theories associated with violence at an interpersonal level, group level, and transnational level. Issues covered will include interpersonal level, group violence, state-sponsored violence, and conclude with non-state-sponsored (extra-state) violence. Societal responses to violence will also be examined throughout the course.
Prerequisite(s): CRJS 1001 or SLGY 1101
