GEOG 4554 - Spatial Data Science Field Methods

This course provides hands-on experience with common geospatial technologies (e.g., GPS, UAV orthophotography, LiDAR, laser scanners, FieldApps and Survey 123), methods used for spatial data collection, and data preparation for integration and use in spatial data science analyses. Topics include research design, mission planning, sampling strategy, data collection, collection app building, data verification, data cleaning, and data management for remote sensing and GIS applications. Hands-on field experience will include on-the-ground situational awareness, planning and logistics, data collection, and metadata creation.
