DATA 3491 - Work Integrated Learning in Data Science

Students will apply their data science skills in a real-world work environment with a partner organization. They will tackle a data-related problem identified by the organization and develop a deliverable that aligns with the organization’s needs. Projects may involve tasks such as data collection, analysis, modeling, or interpretation, depending on the student’s background and the placement’s focus.

Prerequisite(s): Completion of COOP 0001 and DATA 3463 with a minimum grade of C-.
Note: The course will run three hours of lecture for first two weeks, with the rest of the semester being internship hours. Students will complete 60-80 Internship hours over the course of the semester. Students will have a lecture sesssion scheduled at the end of the semester for their final showcase.
