HLTH 3415 - Professional Clinical Practice

This is a 320-hour clinical practicum that provides Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) with nursing practice experience in caring for adult clients who are experiencing increasingly complex health/illness situations. This course runs over eight weeks of a semester. This course occurs at the end of the BCN Program after all other courses are successfully completed. No other courses may be taken at the same time as this course. This course is designed to provide integration of professional knowledge, clinical judgement, communication skills, and safe and ethical practice values within the context of the Canadian healthcare system. Emphasis is on furthering understanding of professional nursing practice and the registered nursing scope of practice to support IENs in making a successful transition to professional nursing in Canada.

Prerequisite(s): HLTH 3101, HLTH 3103, HIST 3105, HLTH 3107, HLTH 3211 and HLTH 3313 or department approval.
