NURS 3144 - Professional Practice in Gerontological Nursing Credit(s): 4 Other Hour(s): 24 Other Hours Schedule Type: Clinical
In various settings and contexts, students will use a life course perspective to apply gerontological nursing skills and knowledge in a strengths-based approach to caring for older persons and their care partners. Using relational practice, students will demonstrate evidence-informed, ethical, safe, and effective nursing care to demonstrate critical thinking, clinical judgment, and collaboration with a focus on the integration of previous and current theoretical and practical knowledge.
Prerequisite(s) / Corequisite(s): NURS 3142 . Note: It is recommended that students complete NURS 3142 and NURS 3144 concurrently to best support the integration of theory and clinical practice.
Students must be prepared to attend clinical anywhere in Calgary and be open to options outside of Calgary.
