This course involves the study of musculoskeletal injuries that fall into the category of complex injuries and repetitive trauma; injuries common to athletics will be approached from the perspective of differential diagnosis.  

Students will demonstrate evidence-based, ethical, critical thinking, reflection, and collaborative practice while integrating previous and current theoretical and practical knowledge in line with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association Scope of Practice and Professional Competencies List. Practical experience will emphasize the assessment of injured athletes as well as the utilization of appropriate intervention skills. Specific joints/regions to be covered are: Cervical, Thoracic, and Lumbar spine, Pelvis/SI region, and Hip. Athletic Therapy students are expected to be open to working with diverse populations and gender identities across the lifespan.

Prerequisite(s): ATTH 3130 , ATTH 3152 , and ATTH 3162 .
